Each summer, the picturesque Gothenburg archipelago becomes the backdrop for an exhilarating event—the finals of the international sail racing cup, World Match Racing Tour. Since 1994, Marstrand has played host to Match Cup Sweden, a competition that draws over 100,000 visitors annually. Beyond being a gathering for the top players in the international sailing industry, Match Cup Sweden has firmly established itself as a highlight on the city's social calendar.

Project description:
My role was to produce and distribute content related to the competition, including press releases, to actively engage our audience and generate buzz and excitement.
Project delivery:
Over the course of two seasons, I managed the communication efforts, overseeing everything from engaging reportage and interviews to executing a comprehensive content strategy that ensured our social media channels were filled with captivating and informative content. Additionally, I took the initiative to produce an innovative video series to reach and engage with a wider audience.
En route for excitement and innovation
To highlight the offshore event and promote the main sponsors, including Flux, Pelle P, and Båtmässan, I took the initiative to create and distribute a series of promotional videos for Match Cup Sweden. Unlike the technical videos that focus on the competition, this series was tailored towards the general audience, adopting an easy and entertaining approach. The goal was to effectively showcase the sponsors, generate excitement for the event, and increase engagement among viewers.

Match Cup Sweden’s social channels covers all sides of the event, from live updates and sail racing results, to exclusive interviews with sailing legends, reportages with the audience, as well as promotion of local organisations and sponsors.
