In 2015, I founded WeSurf together with Kämpinge Vattensportklubb, which quickly became one of the most successful windsurfing schools in Sweden. WeSurf is a community in the southern Sweden with a mission to bring windsurfing, enjoyment, and nature to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

Project delivery:
I developed and implemented a comprehensive branding and marketing strategy that included creating a website, booking system, news portal and social media identity, as well as printed posters and press coverage.

The communication channels were instrumental in promoting the WeSurf brand, attracting new members and retaining existing ones.


A story of innovation

The success of the project was recognised by The Swedish Sail Federation, which awarded WeSurf "The most innovative sailing club of Sweden 2015". This recognition was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion that our team put into creating a windsurfing community that not only provided a great sport but also an opportunity for people to connect with nature and each other. Through our joint efforts, we were also able to increase our membership by over 200%.

Overcoming barriers through narratives


Since the 1980s, when the sinker board was introduced, windsurfing has been perceived by many as an extreme sport. With this in mind, the WeSurf website was designed to lower entry barriers and encourage people to become more active and join the surfing community. This was achieved through the use of narratives that focused on enjoyment, inclusion, diversity, and community.
